We were very pleased to have been invited by Walter Bader (owner of OMI) to spend a day at his factory which is approximately two hours away from our store. We expected some secrecy or off limits to certain areas but to our surprise, complete transparency. No room was off limits, no off the records kind of answer, but “all access” type of tour. Scroll down and see what we saw.

Did you know that OMI’s OrganicPedic mattresses meet the stringent criteria of the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) for low VOC emissions, and are the first to qualify for LEED credits.

Here’s an image of a quilter using certified organic cotton. Oregon Tilth (OTCO) certifies OMI’s fabric to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). Even the thread OMI uses is GOTS-certified.

Raw materials used by OMI are sourced in the United States to support American farmers, workers and industry, as well as to avoid any potential contamination from foreign-based impurities and fumigants that are applied to all imported materials.
